Capturing & Celebrating the Beauty of Scars
I have been toying with this idea for awhile…two years to be exact. I wasn’t sure how I was going to approach this project, but I finally did.
Why am I doing this series? Well for one, I have a couple of scars that I wear on my face…..so let me tell you a little bit about that.
At the age of nine I was bit by a dog (no not a ferocious beast, but a dog nonetheless)…and ended up with 72 stitches in my face. Two plastic surgeries later to reconstruct the damage……………I too will be part of this book.
I have a story to tell. The impact it made on my life, the emotional aspect as well as the physical aspects.
My scars are part of me. This story is part of my life. No scar too small or too big…..every one of them has a story and an impact on your life…every time you look at it you are reminded that it is part of you. Like your hair colour, eye colour and your smile……..
So there..that is why I am doing it…….my scars have built part of me…..have made me the person I am today…….it is all I know 🙂
If you or someone you know would be interested in participating in this series, please pass this email along. There is a form to fill out, if you could kindly do so.
Thank you for reading my story and I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you that is willing to share your story.
You must be willing to travel my studio which is located in Orangeville and be available end of April to Mid-May – date TBA.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
